Framer Question:

What’s the best way to Master Framer given the following:

I’m a Product Designer with an intermediate level understanding of Swift and iOS Development. So… I’ve got a good grasp of OOP in the context of Swift and iOS Development. I understand most major programming constructs like DataTypes, Standard Operators, Control Flow, Collections, Functions. I understand the MVC design pattern and nuances of storyboards.

I’ve set a personal goal for myself to become able to prototype efficiently and quickly with Framer.

I’m not strong on JavaScript.

I tried following this tutorial on how to draw an SVG animation and felt a bit lost. I noticed he was using a lot of dot.notation and at some points couldn’t understand his code.

What resources or tips do you have to improve? I don’t really want to Brush-up on JavaScript and then 1:1 map with with CoffeeScript. It seems like a waste.

Any resources…you’d recommend?

Switching to a new language is always double edged. On one hand you know everything you need, but on the other hand the subtle differences can throw you off enough to just give up. I go through these every year or so too, and I'm not sure how to solve it.

In your case I would start with the CoffeeScript book. It's pretty intermediate and organized in concepts you're familiar with.
