What is best practice to show and hide pages from sketch with no animation. Page component or super layers with Opacity and visibility?

Visibility

Gregory Dean Hall

i see, so pages sitting in the background with visible = true is okay on memory? I also find that buttons events are still active though.

Anton Jarl

Yes, but setting them to false makes the event catchers disappear

Okay cool, I have been doing that however, if a page has transitions out and the other page has transitions in - visibility just cuts these animations off. There doesn't seem to page controller that handles basic screen/pages index. Am I right?

Stephen Crowley

Yeah, so in that case what I do is set a delay on setting the visibility so that after my animation is done I have the layer set to visible = false.

Gregory Dean Hall

cool thanks. I tried on animation end , visible = false. Didnt like it

Stephen Crowley

Whipped up a quick example for you, hope it helps.

Gregory Dean Hall

thanks, ill try that

Gregory Dean Hall

do you find switching visibility on a new screen jerky?

Gregory Dean Hall

can you share that code

Gregory Dean Hall

please

Gregory Dean Hall

you are a champ. Thank you

Gregory Dean Hall

switching layers visibility on is noticeably slower oh well

Gregory Dean Hall

solved

Ok cool- this is how I did it... http://share.framerjs.com/cjmyqasjr5hw/ although there are other ways. This way makes more sense to me instead of using states and then timing the visibility.
