I want to recreate a similar nav hide/show experience as pinterest. When you scroll down it hides and when you scroll up it shows. Medium also has this in their app.
Any obvious ways to approach this with framer you'd recommend? Thanks!
I did that in this example: https://www.facebook.com/groups/framerjs/permalink/736249313168809/
That might help. :D
In the docs you can check out scroll direction: http://framerjs.com/docs/#scroll.direction so you can say on Scroll if scroll_Layer.direciton is "up" do x

There should be a name for this common UI pattern of a toolbar that hides and appears on scroll...
There is. It's called a Quick Return. http://www.androiduipatterns.com/2012/08/an-emerging-ui-pattern-quick-return.html?m=1
Hmmm. I always call it a shy nav.
