Hey Benjamin! In my experience, you have to record it in fullscreen, scale it down to 600px width, and then crop it to match 800x600, and then convert to GIF. You have to tinker with quality settings though to get it just right – that's unavoidable :).

I use LICEcap and do the scaling with the Framer Studio Window. Takes a few seconds.
