Google just announced their acquisition of Pixate. I’m curious to see what comes out of it. Congrats to the team!
Tools are on fire!
Pixate studio is free!! Lol
Yeah i saw this, interesting move by Google...
Woah. First relative wave, now these guys
Wow! Form and now Pixate? Interesting
Wonder if Google is working on releasing a prototyping tool of their own with all of these acquisitions.
Svet sounds like it though, right. Though everyone I met in the Valley so far has recommended Framer as opposed to anything else.
Guy Gunaratne yeah it will be interesting to see which direction they will take. Another possibility is to frame it (pun not intended) as a tool for internal prototyping of Google Android experiences (a la Origami and Facebook).

Congrats to the team. Pixate looks great and powerful tool. I'm a visual designer and honestly, I can't make a real and deep comparison framer vs pixate, but framer's prototypes behave and feel a way more native to me. we also get some compensation for our work, so i wouldn't talk and worry that much about the price.. Framer has a great potential and is quite young tool. Remember, it was a single js library a couple of months ago. Also see framer's community, how many examples and great people ready to help out there.. Looking forward to seeing the outcome of this competition. I think we, the professionals would only benefit from it. Go framer!
I love Pixate. Is this good news ? Google buys and kills products, I'll never understand why companies work so hard to create a beautiful product and then sell it off to the highest bidder, they created something beautiful and should have kept it under the ownership of its creators. This buy out makes me nervous !
They bought also Form.. But it seems they just got the knowledge onboard..
Curious if Framer would sell to google ? Would love to hear thoughts on this from Koen or Jorn !
How can we buy shares in Framer? :)
We're looking to build a company that lasts.
As much as I am excited about future tools , this smells like acquihire to me... But the combination of talent is the beauty of this.
