Has anyone encountered this? weird behavior with scroll layer's content layer showing up behind navbar layer that sits above it in a 1-2 pixel area at the top of the iphone's screen frame. Tried moving navbar's Y value to negative but the problem persists. Thanks for any help!

Yes, all the time. It seems to have to do with not-perfect pixel fitting due to scaling the device down. When you set to full screen, there is no problem

What I've done before is draw a black line overtop of everything with a shadow that's harsh black to get it okay in fit mode.

I don't expect you will. It's how Safari renders things. It has to guess on the half pixels. It happens all the time on the web.
You best bet is to make something that will cover it under that nav bar and flows outside of the screen.
