Apologies if there is already a solution for this (I'm sure there is.) I did a few searches and couldn't find anything.

I'm trying to to change an image's opacity on scroll or gradually darken it with a black backgroundColor at 0.3 opacity. I've had no luck so far, so any suggestions would be much appreciated. I've only been able to get a black bar over the image in the dimensions I want, but not set the proper opacity.

You should "Utils.modulate" the opacity of your layer using the Y position of the scroll. http://framerjs.com/docs/#utils.modulate

I got the opacity to work, but can't put a black bg behind it to get the effect I want. I tried to add an image from sketch, but it keeps telling me it can't find the variable. I also tried to apply a backgroundColorto that space but it's not working for me, still. I appreciate your help.
