Is anyone having issues mirroring for the iPhone6 plus in 1.10.22? The viewport isn't rendering to the entire size of the device for me.
Hmm, can't seem to replicate the problem on my iPhone 6+
Hey Rob Silverii, make sure you're viewing your prototype within an iPhone 6 and not 6+ device within Framer. If it's an older prototype (made before upgrading to 1.10.22) then you could also try and play with the viewport meta-tag within the index.html file of your prototype. Finally, are you designing for a 750 x 1334 resolution? :-)
Benjamin Den Boer I'm designing at 1920x1080 - the display area of the iPhone 6+ device in Framer Studio. Everything looks good in Studio but when I try to mirror to my device it only renders to about 1/3 of the screen size.
Hey Rob Silverii Ah, I see. Turns out that on iOS devices, the dynamically calculated viewport sometimes was off. This has been fixed today. Simply update Framer Studio, then all new projects contain the fix. If you're looking to update existing prototypes, you can temporarily remove the index.html file and let Framer re-create one for you by re-saving. :)
Thanks, Benjamin Den Boer. Hmm looks like there is still an issue. Studio is rendering a 1080x1920 layer as the full height and width of the 6+, but when mirrored on the device it does not fill the entire screen. Should Studio be rendering at 1242x2208 and let the device handle the downsampling?
Kjelle Vergauwe what device are you previewing on in Framer and what resolution are you creating assets for?
I'm having this same issue with the 6 plus. As Rob noted 1080x1920 is being displayed in Studio but then not scaling on the device. The only way you can get a proper device preview is to ignore the Studio rendering and adjust things according to the 1242x2208 dimensions. This causes items on the right and bottom edge to not be visible while in the desktop app (notice the circle in the bottom right on device vs Studio). For reference, I downloaded the app yesterday (after the fix was said to be out) and don't have an update available. Not sure if that means this is persisting?
Ryan Nasipak Yup, exactly. Framer should work in rendered pixels and the device will handle downsampling to 1080x1920.
As a temporary solution, just put "Framer.Device.contentScale =0.869567" in the top of your file and then comment it out when you are previewing on the device.
Rob Silverii. Looks like you have mistyped .96 instead of .86. If you're a total dork like me, the exact scale rate is: Framer.Device.contentScale = 0.869565217 . Thanks again!
Ryan Nasipak Ha, yea. Went back end edited my comment, but only carried it out 6 digits. :-)
Benjamin Den Boer should we add this to the device by default?
