Framer Studio 1.7: Mirror

Today we shipped Framer Studio 1.7 with a Mirror feature that allows you to live preview your prototypes on any device.

Chip Dong Lim

Thank you!

Michiel de Graaf

That's awesome

Pieter-Pleun Korevaar

One of my favourite things in Sketch.

Noah Tsutsui

Koen, it's awesome. Are you using Clear Browser to view without browser chrome?

Kevin Cannon

Super cool! :)

Small request - when I add the root directory to the homescreen, I can browse the different projects I have open, but it doesn't hide the browser bar. I have to add the specific project link to the homescreen to get rid of it. Maybe you guys could add the code for that to the main folder, then I don't need to ever change the link, which would actually save me a fair bit of time :)

Koen Bok

Great suggestion Kevin! I'll add it.

Noah Tsutsui

Wow, when used in conjunction with FSMirror, this is way better than Sketch Mirror.

Angel Ceballos

badass! :)

Francesco Fiore

Hey guys and Koen Bok , i just added a very simple customizable button to take you to the prototypes menu you added to the 1.7 version. You can customize one line of code and that's supposed to work if you set a fixed ip address.

and btw loving the work your doing and the speed guys, keep going

Chris Kalani
Aneesh Bhoopathy

This is awesome. Is anyone else experiencing this? (No url shows up in the mirror dialogue)

Angel Ceballos

Did you check to see if your http server is running? I got that issue, but forgot to run mines. It was fixed right afterwards, unless this is related to another issue

Koen Bok

Hey Aneesh could you check the and/or window > Server Log for errors for me?

Aneesh Bhoopathy

Ooh, I do see this error in

Aneesh Bhoopathy

my python is located at /usr/local/bin/python for some reason

Koen Bok

Hmm launch path not accessible for some reason...

Koen Bok

Yeah that is it. I set the launch path to "/usr/bin/python". Weird that yours is not at that location. What OSX version are you running?

Aneesh Bhoopathy

10.9.4 I can try symlinking and see what happens

Aneesh Bhoopathy

No luck there, but I can probably figure it out from here. Thanks for your help!

John Anthony Evans

Any chance that when I choose open in browser it could use localhost not the IP of the machine; my corporate network blocks it.

Also any chance of an option to use the .local hostname rather than a fixed IP?

Andy Yang

Awesome, thanks!

Koen Bok

John it's easy to look it up in the sharing pref pane, but I'll add a trick to see it from the sharing sheet. We went for the IP address because the local domain name didn't seem to work on Android.

Koen Bok

Hey everyone if you use this feature please take a minute to read Even if you don't have issues, it's full of tips/gotchas.

David Caputo

Fantastic update! Super impressed with the way you guys have been pushing updates and making this such a solid piece of software that I genuinely love using.
