Announcing Framer Studio

Today we shipped a really nice Mac desktop application to work with Framer.js. It solves a lot of things for Framer like easy setup, instant visual feedback and inline error reporting.

We hope you like it and we can't wait to see what you build with it.

Noah Tsutsui

How do I use this Sketch importer? Doesn't seem to work for me.

Jorn van Dijk

You need Sketch Beta for this to work: http://bohemiancoding.com/sketch/beta/

Noah Tsutsui

You can probably see the Sketch Beta menu item in the upper left.

Jorn van Dijk

Whoops, did you save the document?

Noah Tsutsui

Nope. Just saved it, I see it now. Thanks!

Yamil Gonzales

Congrats! great achievement!

Henry Freel

is this only meant for mobile prototyping? is there anyway to remove the iPhone background?

Jorn van Dijk

Yes, you can simply select 'fullscreen' with the popover bottom right.

Henry Freel

aha! thanks

Owen McFadzen

Would be nice to set a 'canvas' size.

Axel Quack

Do you plan to publish the app through the Mac App Store? If yes, when?

Tim Roth

Looks great! But where can I switch to normal JavaScript?

Joshua Turner

Very cool. Congrats on launching this!

Samuel Pushpak

Is there any new way to preview prototypes on iPhone using the Framer Studio ? Other than the methods that are already discussed on this page.

Benny Chew

Nice! Can you use JavaScript?

Craig Murray

this is great! Thanks!

Adam Bubeníček

It's awesome, congrats Koen! One question though – when I'm using Sketch, is there a way for me to manipulate with single layers (not artboards)?

Davis Hammon

awesome. looking pretty slick

Koen Bok

Adam make sure your layers are in a Group and run Generate.

Sketch Group -> Framer Layer

Adam Bubeníček

That works, thanks man :) Now excuse me, I need to go prototyping some awesome stuff!

Florian Pnn

Is it normal that changing the zoom of the viewer doesn't change the scale of the inside of the view ? :|

Koen Bok

You have two scales. Content zoom and device zoom (they are left and right on the bottom of the preview). This way you can work 1px==1pt if you like.

Florian Pnn

Didn't see it, sorry :)
Congrats for the app!

Riccardo Zecchini

just opened Fr.Studio and generated some layers from Sketch, but if I type anything I get this: (running MacOS 10.8.5)

Riccardo Zecchini

I typed 'visible' and 'for', but it seems that the white boxes stay on top and don't disappear. Also the keywords inside the boxes appear broken and totally messed up.. What could it be?

Gertjan de Jong

I don't see share options. Is this because i am running a trial?

Gavin McFarland

Looks good. Would you consider adding landscape previews as well? I could really do with a landscape iPad.

Scott Boms

Minor bug report: In version 1.0.144 (240), if you go to customize the menu bar and click "Use small size" for icons, all the icons switch to the small size except the Snippets icon which does not.

Kostantinos Frantzis

looks good, I need javascript support on the editor, and landscape views!!!

Keith Lang

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or this is a feature request: Would love Framer Studio to auto-complete the Generated layer groups/objects without me having to type it even once. :)
