The latest update to my Framer templates includes a fix for the full-page bounce on Mobile Safari, which I'm sure has annoyed many of us. You can grab an updated version of the templates from here: https://github.com/tisho/framer-templates.

In case you don't want to use the full template, but would still like a drop-in solution for your bouncing problems, I've broken out the script into its own separate repo: https://github.com/tisho/framer-prevent-bounce. You can see an example of it in use here: http://tisho.co/framer-prevent-bounce/example/index.html (load this on your iPhone).

Thanks to Jay Robinson for finally making me come up with a solution to the bouncing issue.

Another quality Tisho production. Nice!

I should just add this to the core, right?

Tisho Georgiev

Yes, please.

What about something like Framer.Hacks.disableMobileSafariBounce()

Tisho Georgiev

Others should chime in, but I would prefer it to be opt-out rather than opt-in for people loading their prototypes on Mobile Safari. I've yet to hear from anyone who actually wants the bounce in their prototypes.

Any side effects we might overlook?

Tisho Georgiev

Other than the fact that you won't be able to capture a touchmove event outside of the scroll layer it originated from, no. Might interfere with gesture recognition on such layers, but I'll need to come up with a good way to test that. We should also see if draggables perform well with this patch.

Man, I started testing on my iPhone and ran into this problem this morning... this is super-helpful!

This is incredibly awesome! I always do parts of that on my own, and it's just great that you turned this into a re-useable piece. love it!
