Anyone know a good browser for Android (Galaxy S4) to run prototypes in? Dolphin seems like the best one but blows pretty hard for these purposes nonetheless...

looks like Beta has full screen? will give a try

ohyeah the beta version supports webapps on android!

How is the performance of framer animations these days on android? Getting closer to ios?

Tom Jenkins

Tried a bunch of browsers on Android. CSS animations run OK but draggable views are unusable. Things shunt in along a few pixels at a time with each drag. Any idea why? Really loving Framer.js but I want to share projects on Android phones and I'm wondering if there's a way to get this working. Any pointers much appreciated.

did you try to change the framer configuration, such as Framer.config.animationPrecision = 30 ? http://www.framerjs.com/documentation/index.html#configuration

Tom Jenkins

No, I'll give it a go thanks. But seems that it's touch events (besides a simple click) that are maybe broken rather than animations.

Using requestAnimationFrame seems to work pretty well. Very smooth for me.

Tom Jenkins

Hi Thomas. Do you have an example of using this with framer draggable views?

Koen Bok

I also have an experimental requestAnimationFrame branch for Framer I'll clean it up so we can try it out. It was slower on iOS but might be better on Android.

Tom Jenkins

Fantastic. Thanks very much.

Scrollview was working fine on Android but not draggable views, which seemed odd. Then, I was playing around with Aaron Carámbula's suggestion above for avoiding the default browser overscroll using mobile jquery e.preventdefault() on most parent view and that fixed my issue :-) Seems touch events are now getting to the draggable views. Animations and dragging isn't as fast as iOS but super usable. Very happy.

Speaking of drag events, Koen or Thomas do either of you have recs for creating stand-alone views that exceed size of visible image area? Find that even images that weren't part of a PSD run through Framer are cropped to visible area when called. Solve with scrollview somehow?

Thomas Aylott

The new beta photoshop extension should fix that. It's currently in private internal beta testing.

Word up. Thanks.
