Hey guys! I'm using sprites for some animation work based on Jordan Robert Dobson's excellent sprites module. However, it doesn't seem to be working with the most recent version of Framer.
Here's the link: https://framer.cloud/kQfCa/
I took screenshots of the framer file and the js errors on console. You can see that it's as stripped down as it gets. Anybody have an idea of how to fix? Thanks!!!
I have a hunch that it's because of the changes in the newest version of Framer for animation. I took a look at the module and it doesn't set up the Animation in a way that's recommended.
This is the code from the module
All that stuff should be compatible still. I can take a look in about an hour or two.
I think it's actually something else. But we'll see. :)
ok! well I tried reorganizing it and no luck :(
Are you addressing the HTTPS issue? It seems like cloud.framer is hosted on a secure HTTPS server and trying to load the image file from a non secure source.
That won't be the animation problem but it is one of the errors you are getting.
Yeah I think I mentioned that.
Need to reference as //s.cdpn.io/.....
Ah, maybe I missed some comments there or something.
I'm damn close to getting this fixed. I'm trying to track down why I had to patch one thing though. It might be that an animation doesn't fire unless there is an actual change.
Here's the solution: https://framer.cloud/IbIax/
I'll make a more formal post about this and some other updates... but I wanted to get you going. The module has changed quite a bit since my coding style and process has evolved.
I hope this works well. thanks for the heads up too Xin Xin!
Awesome Thanks Jordan Robert Dobson.
thanks so much! lifesaver
Here's an update with added events, and new methods to help you control your sprite animations better.
Check out the code in Framer and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks! I'll pull this in and see how it goes tomorrow. I'd love to show you the framer files but it's a confidential project :(
