Is there a way of temporarily disabling the "change:XYZ" event listener? i.e. disable layerA.on "change:x", -> so it does not fire until re-enabled? layerA.ignoreEvents does not work.

Have you tried using `layer.off`?

yes I tried layerA.off() but it requires a valid event name in the format of Event.EventName and does not accept layerA.off(Event:changeX) or anything like that.

Does anyone know how to use layerA.off() with events like "change:x"?
