Hey Framers! Connected Lab is pleased to announce that we will be hosting Toronto's first Framer.js Meetup! The Meetup is going to take place on October 5th at our Connected Lab Office in Toronto. We’ll announce more details shortly. One of the cool topics we will be covering is how to use Framer.js to make Experiential Prototypes for emerging technologies like VR and AR using the Microsoft Hololens!

Edit: wasn't sure what was wrong exactly but it got fixed eventually. Thanks for the tips 🙂 Hi everyone, has anyone experienced problems with a click event that works on desktop but doesn't work on a mobile device? I'm having difficulty debugging it because it works on the computer. I am using "layer.onClick ->", and it's only one layer out of a hundred that's not working.

I'm trying to embed this Framer in an iFrame but it renders masked inside of a 200x200 FrameLayer Div, when the actual prototype should be 900px+ wide and 600+ tall. Any ideas?

Hey Framer FB. I'm trying to recreate the Apple Music now playing card. The card show up on tapping the mini-player right above the tab bar, and the card is scrollable— you can also swipe down the card to dismiss / close it. I'm having trouble creating a card in Framer that allows scrolling and permits a drag downwards if the scrolling content's y > 0. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any advice/tips/tricks for presenting your framer projects? I've been using it for an Alumni webpage as part of a project, so I have a lot of different files for different microinteractions. I'm not really sure how to show these during my final review with my professors, which is set up meeting-style. Thanks guys!

I am having the hardest time figuring out why I can't get children to work... childrenofcampaigns = campaigns.children childrenofcampaigns.visible = false has no effect whatsoever on the children of that layer I'm using sketch and have the groups in groups etc.. denoting that they are children in sketch. Am I missing something? another example - childrenLayers = sketch.campaign_list_menu_open.children childrenLayers.onMouseOver -> this.children[0].opacity = 1

I have noticed that even switching states of a layer without actually animating it affects the function "onAnimationEnd". I have a layer that I switch states between, and I have a final action where I switch back states, but I noticed that normally switching states also triggers "onAnimationEnd". Is there a way to avoid this?! Thanks in advance!

Trevor Coleman and Andreas Wahlström, I see your multiple lines of code to hook up your FlowComponent links, and raise you one single line of code to hook up all your FlowComponent links! It's a longer line than what's really practical, but three lines doesn't sound as impressive :)

Hello hello, Frameristas! It's been a while since I posted something, and I'm diving back into the game with a quick lil' project. http://share.framerjs.com/zpz7bfeusghc/ http://www.katreilly.com/journal/2016/10/14/reigns-card-interaction ---- One of my favorite current mobile games is "Reigns," an addictive choice-driven game from the folks at Devolver Digital. Lately, I've been working at creating more polished interactions. Recreating the core dragging mechanic of "Reigns" was great practice! Share link and writeup are above. As always, feedback and suggestions are hugely appreciated.

hello all, I'm a complete noob. I'm trying to add a centered logo in a sidebar so I'm using: logo = new Layer parent: layerA height: 80 width: 80 x: Align.center y: Align.top but I would like to add a margin from the top. I tried y: Align.top + 10 but it doesn't seem to work, the documentation is not super helpful so I'm wondering where I should be looking for that. Thanks!

Our Meet-ups make the assumption that most people are relatively new to Framer. We use a workshop approach where we walk you through a prototype build step-by-step. For Framers who are more intermediate or advanced we have mentors to address advanced topics. Don't be discouraged or intimidated to start using Framer! It's better with Friends!

Hi! Spent some time experimenting with the tilt image viewer. I've used the "deviceorientation" event (http://share.framerjs.com/9fl8f4hjais0/ – as from the video). Also tried the "devicemotion" event as implemented by Jun-Hyuk Jang – which honestly I prefer (http://share.framerjs.com/i7uyj0207bxx/) :).

I'm sure there must be an example out there, but I'm looking for the code that will change the layer displayed when you rotate the phone to landscape orientation. I've seen things about a listener but would love to see an example where based on the condition of the phone changing to landscape orientation that I hide some things and display others. Can someone advise? Thx.

Howdy Framers. I'm a user experience guy and want to earn me some top notch Framer skills. Watched the course on Udemy - which was a great place to start - but frankly I'm kinda lazy and haven't done the exercises. I need some accountability if I'm going to level up and that's what brings me to your sexy FB group. Is there any online course for Framer? Not just go-at-your-own-pace videos and exercises. I want the real deal - a real instructor with real deadlines for homework assignments and real critiques of my code. I've searched far and wide and haven't found any continuing education style online course. Is there one? 🙏 I live in NYC so something IRL would be kewl too. Thanks. Love, Jon.

I think I may have found a bug with scrolling. I am trying to remake the category bar on the discovery page of the Ello iOS app. On the Ello app you can scroll horizontally to reveal more categories but if you scroll the content vertically the category bar disappears. I got this working for the most part in framer but when you add both vertical and horizontal scrolling to the category bar in framer the Y position shifts. http://share.framerjs.com/j1xkuar8twc6/ If you comment out the horizontal scrolling for the category bar then the Y positioning is fine. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I'm new to framer so I may not be coding it correctly.

Hiya Framerers! Here’s an example of how you can quickly set-up non-linear flows in Framer. Since apps are rarely limited to horizontal flows, we’ve included simple overlay functions in Framer Flows. It also shows you how to combine our new FlowComponent with a horizontal ScrollComponent. :-) On Dribbble — https://dribbble.com/shots/3137403-Framer-Flows-Overlays Open in Framer — http://share.framerjs.com/5lqivhlax0sf/

Hey y'all. Loving the new flowComponent work, and Andreas Wahlström's complimentary Sketch plugin. I have one problem, using if statements to determine whether a flow should be forwards or backwards (eg. for nav tabs where you don't want to be constantly going forwards). Maybe you could take a look at my sample file and tell me where I'm messing up? Much appreciated: http://share.framerjs.com/68qvw181k41e/

Anyone else have issues with require "module" in the v76 update? For me it seems to have died.

Gregory J. Orton
Hi, Frameristas! I'm trying to reset all my workflows and prototyping to get to grips with 'designing @1x', so I have a few general design questions and also specific framer questions. After playing with Jordan Robert Dobson's fantastic DPR module (https://github.com/jordandobson/framer-DevicePixelRatio) I realised that (and this is not to denigrate its usefulness) that the module is essentially just multiplying by a scalar whatever size you set your widths, heights and fonts to, based on the device pixel ratio (DPR) of the device. So I did some reading and I think I understand the concepts, but I need confirmation of my understanding: 1st Question (GENERAL DESIGN): To 'design @1x' means to design at the DP setting of the device. That is, even if using pixels (photoshop) instead of points (sketch) then find whatever those DP values are, make your canvas that size, and design all your elements to that canvas: So for example: iPhone 6: 375 * 667 Google Pixel: 411 * 731 If I export at this size (straight export from PS/AI) or export @1x (from sketch), these items will literally be this pixel height and width, but would look half-sized on the actual device. I can then use these resources: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30049544/what-should-image-sizes-at-1x-2x-and-3x and https://material.io/devices/ to find out the "DPR value" of the device that I'm exporting to, and multiply all of my heights, widths and fonts sizes by this value, then export an asset '@x.x' size, I will get the correct asset for the screen size. Worked example: From https://material.io/devices/ I can see that a Google Pixel is 16:9, 2.6 xxhdp. So, I should be able to use it's "DP" value: 411 * 731 for the canvas, multiply that by 2.6 and get the right value in PIXELS for my assets. Right? It's wrong! Width: 411 * 2.6 = ~1068 Height: 731 * 2.6 = ~1900 That's a screen res of 1068 x 1900, missing 12 pixels in the width, and a whopping 20 missing in the height! 2nd question (framer specific): Experimenting in Framer, I was able to get this, which finally gives me an accurate result: fullscreen = new Layer parent: initialView height: 2.62654 * 731 width: 2.62654 * 411 Resulting layer = 1920 x 1080 I had to use a DPR factor of 2.62654 to get accurate @2.6x on the google pixel device! When we do this on an iPhone - 375*667, it gives you the correct pixel size! 375 x 667 @ 2x = 750 x 1334. So what gives? Look at the attached framer project, and you'll see that if you use the guideline @2.6x DPR for the Pixel, you'll get a layer that wont' fit! Help! http://share.framerjs.com/lu1f4na3vqoh/

Hi, everyone. This time I introduce you a carousel prototype. In fact it has only three cards. Hey Frameristos- Today it's snowing in Seattle so it's quite fitting to share this. If you use the Amazon app, you might start to notice something a little different when you tap the menu. My teammate Timothy Whalin and I teamed up to test some snowfall animations. I leveraged some of Jordan's Periscope Hearts emitter work he demoed at one of our early Framer Seattle meetups to generate the snow with random fall patterns. This was really fun to experiment with- so thanks Tim for bringing me in to collaborate. Here is an example of one of the early tests we did- hope you like it!

Hey all....quick questions: Is there are a to disable and/or edit the overlay on the FlowComponent? I would love to be able to use .showOverlayTop a sticky header that only appears on scrolling. Question: Importing Sketch and loop through copies of the layers… no click events on the copies? I see that in the documentation. Any tips on how to deal with layers from sketch in loops? Using children seems to have all sorts of caveats. Like the original layer may not be reacting like the copies? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm just starting to learn Framer. So far I've learned just couple of basics so there's a lot more to learn! I recently came across this sweet thing called mo.js. (http://mojs.io/). I am trying to see if I can integrate it with framer. I tried to load mo.js with Dynamic Loader (https://github.com/LucienLee/framer-DynamicLoader) but I am kind of stuck after that. Is it possible to use this .js file on Framer environment (coffeescript)? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Framers, does anyone happen to know how to dynamically update a scroll component's scroll constraints when the layer is made pinchable? In this example http://share.framerjs.com/dfoou57y8lhf/, when I pinch to zoom into the image I can no longer scroll to the edges. When I zoom out I can scroll the layer out of view. Any advice much appreciated!

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. Basically I'm trying to retrieve the value.length of a html input I've created directly in Framer by using the "inputname".on notation, and reading the value on "keyup" but get an error when I do. I've asked one of the Framer guys about this and found out the .on notation can't be used on html objects as its a reserved Framer shortcut so I'd love to now if anyone else knows a solution for this? As always, appreciate the help!

Hey team! Loving using Framer, but have a question that I'm not sure about how to answer. Creating a website mockup for a client, and want to have certain animations fire off based on the scroll position of the page. How would you go about accomplishing this in Framer? I've tried creating an "if then" statement, but because it's not attached to anything, it's creating a problem.

The Framer JS Seattle group wanted to share the results from our Holiday Hackathon last night at our 19th monthly meet up. We took 40 minutes to pull together a holiday themed prototype to have someone at random share. Here they are: Chris Camargo • http://share.framerjs.com/dfkxo4r2iq64/ Jordan Robert Dobson • http://share.framerjs.com/dbuuei2mg046/ Arturo Goicochea • http://share.framerjs.com/xiu9myfir68r/ Lauren Nielsen • http://share.framerjs.com/z4ynjrty1hxe/ Christian Hagel • http://share.framerjs.com/ggr5nwbs9498/ Jake Dobson - 1st time in Framer! • http://share.framerjs.com/qchw3j3uysgz/ Andrew Kelly • http://share.framerjs.com/4eymi2vu8ya2/ Nick Simonson • http://share.framerjs.com/bay7qqtmlz01/ Also, we wanted to all say thanks to the Framer team for all your support in helping us with these events. We've learned a ton, taught a ton, been inspired, made friendships, had fun and overall became we've become better designers AND... more helpful to fellow employees and our teams because of you. ♥️ Jordan & Stephen

Hey all, I'm having trouble importing into framer from Sketch. I have imported the artboard tripDetail and it's showing in the layers tree. When I try to call it though, I get the error "can't find variable: tripDetail" Any thoughts on why this isn't working?

I'm trying to disable the horizontal bouncy effect on something with the new Flow Component. How do you do that? Since the scroll now is more abstract, I don't really understand what property should I be targeting to lock horizontal dragging completely.

Anybody having trouble with locking on the desired Sketch document while importing? I have a couple of Sketch documents open and Framer usually try to import from wrong document even though the active Sketch document is the right one. I couldn't find anyway to fix that except closing and opening the Sketch documents. If we had the option of selecting a document while importing, it would be awesome.

Trying to build an infinite carousel front-facing, similar to the attached project shared a while ago in this group - except I'd like the layers to act as if they were on a wheel, meaning go behind the carousel and back to the top infinitely, instead of just scrolling up and down. http://share.framerjs.com/iwcdmzgymyzj/ Any views or examples ?

Hi Framers! I made a very simple, but really useful prototype for loading spinners. With this example, You can create many types of fancy spinner. This may look fancy, but it's actually doesn't take much time to build! (I tested and double checked this with devs I work with!) You can view and download Framer sample from this link: http://share.framerjs.com/e9f5sfvmrapa/ If you are interested in my prototypes - please visit @arle13 on Twitter or https://dribbble.com/arle13 on Dribbble! ^w^

Hi guys I'm new 😀 This seemed like the best tool to prototyp with (by far) Quick question before I start to get immersed in it.... does plain ol JS work or is this a timeframe and click to edit app.... I'm comfotablt with both too.... also is code exported to be used on the dom ... It seems very unique and interesting framer.js Thanks in advanced everyone 👍

Next Problem. I created a loop to create 11 layers in my prototype. Now I want to give all 11 layers the same scrolling and dragging properties and also a unique name/id because later I need to know the x and y position of every single layer. The code that I have right know is what I want to do and of course with this code only the latest created layer gets the scrolling properties. I tried to include those things in the loop but I cant get it to work properly.

Suggestion: When you right click on any object, property, function, etc. in code, there should be an option in the context menu that lets me jump directly to the related article in the docs. This would be a great shortcut for when I am examining other people's code. Koen Bok

For those of you getting started with Framer, just a heads-up, functional programming skills and coffeescript will be essential tools in your tool belt. I complained to treehouse 6 months ago that they didn't have a coffeescript course. I guess they listened. I find the format of treehouse to be great. So give it a shot.

Hey Frameristas! We’re really excited to announce the launch of Framer Flows in v76, a super simple way to design an app from start to finish. This is something a lot of you requested, and really rounds Framer out as a full-service prototyping tool. Framer Flows is built on the FlowComponent, which makes it quick and easy to link screens together into a non-linear flow. It’s app design made simple. Read the blog to find out how it works — https://goo.gl/EcJ2v6

Hello Guys, I have another a very basic programming issue: I have a loop that creates some layers, and gives each layer a unique name. Now I want to have on each unique layer a drag event and for each layer unique dragging coordinates should be used. For this I have to use i in the variable names, but I have no idea how to do that, my example on the bottom obv does not work, but I guess it shows what I want to achieve. Basically I need aY0 aY1 aY2 aY3 ... aY10 and also layer1 layer 2 layer 3 ... layer10 Thanks already :)

I'm designing something like this: ScrollView -content --Item_1 ---Like_button_1 --Item_2 ---Like_button_2 --Item_3 ...... What's the cleanest way to listen for events on each Like_button? (all the layers are imported from sketch - *not* generated from data) I thought maybe I could iterate through Item_, and look for the Like_button sublayer, but it has a different name each time. Could use string matching, which seems sloppy. I guess the only other way would be if you could assign an attribute in sketch using a layer naming convention - e.g. Like_button[like_button], which framer would rename to Like_button_n[like_button], and could be referred to as sketch.Like_button_n or sketch.Item_1.like_button (starts to look like a CSS id/class-like system)

Isaac Weinhausen
TIP: For anyone who's ever used a for loop to set an event handler or some other kind of callback function, you may have noticed that your iterator variable is always set (stuck) to its last value when referenced in your handler/callback function. Usually, you're going to want the iterator's value for EACH step of your loop, not just the last. This is is where CoffeeScript's "do" keyword is useful. Here's a couple links that'll help you understand: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8220340/callbacks-only-see-last-value-from-loop http://rzrsharp.net/2011/06/27/what-does-coffeescripts-do-do.html

Hi Framers! I am pretty new to Framer. I made a new event listener for "key down" right arrow on your keyboard, and I need it to work exclusively with a dropdown layer (when exposed) in my project. I am using the same "key down" right arrow event listener on the main document for a different function. Basically in the main document the "key down" right arrow key lets you cycle through videos and in the top drop down menu (which is exposed with the "key down" up arrow key), the same 'key down' right arrow function lets you cycle through tiles. The problem I am having is that the "key down" right arrow key is moving both the tiles in the drop down menu and the cycling through the videos of the main document. i did give them two separate eventlisteners but they are firing at the same time. How do I have one only fire during when the dropdown is exposed.

I was super excited about the flowcomponent, but it turns out I can't use it yet because I built my own custom scroll component that supports pinned scrolling headers and appending below the last item, so I don't have to care about y values. Hi Framers! So the other day I made post that said Treehouse would be offering a CoffeeScript course. I even posted a link to the page that said the course would be released in December. Then Diana Yun said the link was dead. So I contacted Treehouse and they said they were going to release a course but then have (as of today) put it on hold. Treehouse is concerned there might not be enough interest in the course. If you would like them to continue with such a course, please vote. They will be watching this poll.

For FlowComponent, I don't know if it is a bug or not. I slide out a full-screen page by using showOverlayBottom on a page which has a footer, then show OverlayRight for next layer. At that moment the footer from the first page suddenly shown up on previous page (which is ShowOverlayBottom layer). It is not what I expect until I go back to the first page. If I am wrong, please correct me. Thanks. What do you think? I don't think Framer really define too many cases for these Flow functions. But still thanks for their efforts.

Hey Everyone! I've been working on this problem for a while now, but can't seem to find a way around it. I am trying to build a horizontal scroll wheel module (made up of "layers" array) with a "selector" layer in the middle of the screen that selects the layer within said array that landed on it, displays said layer's name and the page that is associated with it. In other words, once "beige layer" lands on "selector", this.name is displayed below this.layer, "beige page".x=0 Right now the problem is that the wheel only moves onDrag, so you have to keep dragging it for it to move as opposed to onScroll. I've tried playing around with reading the x position of layers in the "layers" array relative to "selector" and fire off commands, and I also tried playing around with .parent properties for the pages, but it doesn't work the way it should. http://share.framerjs.com/psbqx3dvqtz9/ Any help would be appreciated, guys. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone found a good way to output logs from a Framer prototype on-device (e.g. iPhone)? Basically I want to log some data while the prototype is being used, and output it somehow. Direction lock question: On a vertically scrolling page full of horizontally scrolling lists (think Netflix), if the user doesn't drag more or less precisely in the intended direction, it doesn't scroll at all on any axis. I'd like to always scroll either horizontally or vertically, just not both at the same time. Can I hack directionlock to do that, or do I need to add my own logic? My first thought is to just do it myself by leaving direction lock off and checking the angle of the initial drag, and toggle scrollHorizontal/-Vertical as needed..

However, now running into the problem of the state not cycling back to default as opposed to just using box1.states.next(). This isn't a complicated question but its a tough one to search for. when I build a prototype with a scroll container and then open it in safari for iOS, as I scroll the content the iOS browser chrome does not 'transition' into its minimized version. Hey, guys! 👋 I made the walk-through page to prototype with Framer. I was considering what type of an introduction page would fit the concept of my service. I thought it would be cool if It’s like a game. But only by imagination was not easy to create a game-like service. and If when it comes to actual developing process, this would take too much resources and time. So I’ve tested several designs with Framer. I could improve the quality with testing the speed, the sense of touch, the animation, etc. Since I have had learning Framer, I applied several patterns repeatedly. Now, the final version is actually applied to the current service. You can download this now in App Store. It's social network service. 👉 👉 👉 http://ssup.us/

I made this slider that changes the image file of a layer based on the slider's value. But, when you scrub quickly there is a very brief period between the image swap where the screen cuts to black. I wish we could figure out how to use trackpads to scroll on desktop. Telling users to "click scroll" causes some confusion in testing. If Framer, or someone else, could figure that out, Framer would fulfill 100% of my prototyping needs. Our product still has a lot of desktop users and Framer is the best tool for prototyping on desktop.

The team and I are trying to set up a smoketest, to test whether we can get people to download a certain app. The 'test app' will not consist of more than the onboarding and several core screens. We already have a Framer prototype, so it would be really useful if we can convert it into an Android Application, to test demand before building the app. I have read that it is possible to display website links in an app, using a WebView element. We can then use ads and a landing page to try to direct people with certain devices to the Play store. Has anyone ever tried something similar using a Framer prototype? Or would you recommend against this? Any help or advice is much appreciated!

Hi I'm very new to framer, but I'm excited to get into it! There's a lot for me to catch up on. I went through this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zaxrXK7Nac Now I'm trying to use a bit of FlowComponent, and I'm wondering since FlowComponent has ScrollComponenet built in, if I want to do something like locking the scrollY of the scroll (as shown in the video around 6:40), how would I do that since I can't seem do anything like flow.scrollY? Thanks everyone!

Hello 👋 I was wondering if there is any way to run the import feature for Sketch and Figma in a node JS script? I have a gulp build system that watches all of my files and would love to add the import option so when I save my Sketch/Figma file it will then trigger a task to rebuild the imported folder.

Hi Framers, I'm not sure if someone has already covered this topic, but I'm having trouble getting pageComponent working with a scroll component inside of it. I'm supposed to have couple of pages with their contents wider than Screen.width and allow user to swipe to next page once he gets to the end of content in current page. Currently both page swipe and scroll fire off simultaneously. Here's my attempt: https://framer.cloud/ryWbHgOVg/ Any help would be appreciated!

I was wondering what the best way was to get transparent backgrounds on framer iframe embeds? Right now I have a really hacky way of setting the body and the class "Framer Context Root"' background to none using a module I wrote but sometimes on the embed I get an null reference to body, so the framer embed is both non-transparent and non-interactable, requiring a refresh. I want to create something for Google Cardboard with the great VRComponent. For this I used two VRComponent objects next to each other (screenshot), but unfortunately on my iPhone 6 the prototype always crashes after a few seconds. It works flawless on an iPhone 7 Plus, so it's definitely caused by the performance of the iPhone 6... With one VRComponent object everything works fine on the iPhone 6. So, is there a way to mirror the visual output of one(!) VRComponent to reduce the calculations? Thanks in advance :)

It’s our Final Framer Toronto Meet-up of 2016. Please join us for our meet-up @connectedlab. We’ve switched up the topics of discussion a bit. Be sure to bring your LapTop to build your first VR Prototype. 1. Scroll Components (15 Minutes). How to work with the Scroll Component. 2. Prototyping for emerging technologies (AR/VR). Specifically Mixed Reality on Microsoft Hololens. (35 minutes) New features like Flows and Cloud will be the subjects of our new expanded series going on in January. I am pleased to announced that we have acquired FramerJSToronto.com and will be posting all our lectures there started January 1st of Q1 where you can learn Framer for Free and ask questions. Monthly Framer JS Meetups were an experiment for us in 2016. We’ve had tremendous interest in Framer in Toronto. In 2017 Connected Lab has really ramped-up our commitment to prototyping and motion. Our 2017 Meetups are going to be bigger and more comprehensive than ever before. We’ll explore the basics and advanced topics. One topic we will be exploring is how to use Framer to prototype interactions between software and physical hardware. This may be of interest to anyone who is curious about Prototyping for the Internet of Things. We will be building a toy that uses NLP Inputs, Arduino/Raspberry Pi serial connections and Firebase to make a prototype that can communicate with hardware. We will look at how to use Framer in such a workflow. We will also be exploring how to prototype a PS4 Menu and Interaction with Framer. Thank you to everyone who made Framer Toronto such a huge success this year. We look forward to an epic 2017 and invite you to join us. As always, free food, swag and fun!

A very basic question... is there a way to eliminate the transition from a PageComponent? I've tried a couple things, but they don't seem to work. What I basically need is the PageComponent version of layer.states.switchInstant(). I'm prototyping a bottom tab navigation, and I find helpful putting every separate screen in a separate page of a PageComponent to keep things tidy, but I do want to jump from item 1 to item 5 without having to transition through all of them in an animation. https://framer.cloud/Sy_DTEK4e Thanks!

Happy holidays Frameristas! ✨🎄 Here is a fun little prototype of a Canvas color experiment. Using the native getImageData() method, we can retrieve color values from a Canvas. Here, I’m getting the hex color value of the cursor center point while you hover. I’ve also included a little toggle that allows you to try it on different images. (It’s not perfectly random, but hey) 🗻 https://framer.cloud/BysTl8KEl

I'm having a bit of a FlowComponent headache: The views I'm loading into it via flow.showNext() are already ScrollComponents, with content insets to give them a nice margin at the bottom of the page. But since my flow component has a footer, the content inset gets overriden by the footer height, instead of the footer height just getting added. Any chance of a quick fix? Or am I doing it wrong?

We had a great time in Toronto tonight for Framer 3 @connectedlab! We did the following: Ate Pizza, listened to A$AP Rocky, got tons of free shirts from Framer and then kicked-off our meet-up. Thank you to those who came-out right before the Holidays! 1. We explored the Scroll Component and built a Netflix CTA Prototype. 2. We built a VR Prototype with a 3D Lizard…yeah. We explored the VR Component and then looked at a 3D Workflow using a Mac Pro Tower and Cinema4D. The git repo is here. Slight issues with the cubemap-use Safari only...but we built it in 20 minutes. Including renders! So we're ok with that :) https://github.com/mazurick/Framer3/upload/master https://framer.cloud/ryqwgf54e/

Hey guys, Having some trouble working with imported layers of the same name. Searched elsewhere but not found anything helpful unfortunately! When you have multiple views named the same thing (for example, 'detailView') and you import them into Framer then they'll automatically have a number appended to them. So if you had four detailViews, what you'd get would be: detailView detailView1 detailView2 detailView3 How are you meant to loop over these in an array? If I do print detailViews[i].childrenWithName('detailContent' + i) then it'll return the following: » [] » [<Layer id:24 name:detailContent1 (0, 0) 1185x2916>] » [<Layer id:33 name:detailContent2 (0, 0) 1185x2604>] » [<Layer id:42 name:detailContent3 (0, 0) 1185x2604>] So it gets everything besides the first layer. Any ideas?

Hello Again :) https://framer.cloud/BkOYQAyBl/ In this example when you press start the position / value of the slider gets pushed into an array every 1 second. When you press stop it stops "recording" the slider Movement. Now my Question: I want to achieve that when you have an array with values for example: [86, 94, 99, 87, 56, 100, 106, 71, 97] and you press play that the recorded slider behavior gets replicated. The tricky part here is I want to interpolate between numbers. So at second 1 the Slider is at 86 at second 2 the slider should be at 94 but in between there should be a linear interpolation of the numbers? So that you can see the slider moving slowly. Can someone show me what the easiest way would be to do that? Would there also be a way to "ease" between those numbers. I hope I did a good job explaining what I want :)

I have just started using Framer and learning the tool. Please have a look at the screenshot below. I have a list of video thumbnails that I need to auto scroll and stop at the center with the white border around it and auto plays video for 5 seconds and then auto scrolls to the next thumbnail with opacity to 100% white border and auto play video for 5 seconds. At the same time I have this white rectangle on the left, that also fade in and out with the title changing with the respective video thumbnail. Need help with the auto scroll and auto video play please.

Hey! I’ve been working on a few speech assistant concepts over the past few months and needed a quick way to test different conversations before moving onto using api.ai/wit.ai Prototype: http://share.framerjs.com/tp6ayb98nern/ So, building on Brian Bailey’s work I recreated created a Google Home conversation prototype. It uses the SpeechRecognition & SpeechSynthesis Web API’s so it only works on Chrome currently and has a few issues hanging up, but It can be modified easily to “mock” a conversation. Just edit the responses array and mirror in chrome to use. I also find it useful to write down a script of user queries I want to test. Google recently released “Actions on Google” so I thought it would be interesting to share for those that are interested in designing voice UI’s More info: https://developers.google.com/actions/

I build a simple module to use api.ai inside your prototypes. You can use it for text strings in chatbots and you can use speech recognition on framer side and query solving on apiai side of things if u are prototyping some voice assistant like google home or alexa. https://github.com/mamezito/Api.ai_module_FramerJS. I will showcase more extending version of google home during next London and Amsterdam meetups in January and explain how this thing works. By the way, if anyone hiring prototyper, especially in conversational UI area, let me know ;)

Hi there! I am looking to create a prototype that will eventually be on a screen that is 16:10 and around 8.6 inches by 5.45 inches in production. I am looking to buy a tablet for prototyping but the tablet device options in framer are either too small (ipad mini, ipad, nexus) or way too big (ipad pro). Can I buy an android device that fits the screen size that I want better and still use framer? Can I create a custom canvas size that will link to a different tablet device than the options I have? Few quick questions about working with classes. I'm defining a class by extending a layer to add a custom boolean property, selectable. 1. Can I define default states on / off as part of the constructor function and switch between states based on whether selected is true or not 2. How can I make it such that IF the on/off states for the layer are defined, THEN the default states get overwritten (similar to how I am doing it with the selected property)? class Selectable extends Layer --- constructor: (@options={}) -> ------ @options.selected ?= false ------ super @options --- @define 'selected', ------ get: -> --------- @options.selected ------ set: (value) -> --------- @options.selected = value
