Is there a way I can move the console to it doesn't obscure my project? I can't interact with my project and view errors and print commands at the same time and it's extremely cumbersome. I could go to 50% content but then that changes behavior in code when you try to get clientX, clientX becomes 1x whereas the rest of the values remain 2x. Thanks!

What's the best way to move a mask without moving the subLayer? I need my mask to serve as a "peep hole" to the sublayer, and when moving the mask it "crops" the subLayer. Kind of like the wipe effect: http://dejareviewer.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/star-wars-classic-wipe-transition-episode-ii1.jpg Thanks!

Anyone have any idea how to remove/hide native iOS video controls for a framer app? Fullscreen ok, but would like to hide the controls. Doesn't seem like anything overlaid on video is preserved either, and video orientation is also funky: in Framer Studio a video captured with iPhone is properly oriented in portrait, but then in Chrome it's rotated 90 degress. On iOS it's in portrait again, but basically divorced from framer sketch in native iOS vid player... Might the codec have something to do with it? Been using .mov but will try .mp4 ..

A general question i have been debating in my head for a while : When doing a simple fading in / fading out animation between 2 images (say in a slideshow), what are the preferred animation values? I experimented with different types of curves and timings and came to the conclusion that for fades the curve options don't make much difference, but having the initial image fade out quickly, and then having the new image fade in on a longer time, makes the overall animation feel smoother. I'd love to hear if others have given any thought to this. What kind of properties do you use when writing simple fade in / fade outs ? For reference here is something I have been using that I (mostly) like: Initial image fades out in 0.2 seconds with a easeIn Quart, and on complete, new image fades in, in 1.1 seconds with a easeOut Quart curve. I'm taking these curve values from here: http://easings.net/#

Hey guys, I need some help =) I'm trying to create a framer layer that can draw from the webcam and be manipulated as a normal framer layer. In my example here, you can see that if I just write the code for the div manually it successfully can pull from the webcam, but as soon as I instead try to create a framer layer and insert that same html, it all of a sudden doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you guys so much in advance!

What would be the feasibility in future releases when adding an image to a layer [image: 'images/myfilename.png'] that the images folder could be cached somehow so that the file paths have autocomplete?

I often send Dropbox-links to my client in order to show them my current progress - it's automatic, reliable and always up-to-date. Both, my clients and I love this new super-iterative workflow. Loading and caching can be a pain in the ass, though. I currently black-out the screen for a certain amount of time in order to give the browser enough time to fetch the data (~30sec. for 30megs of data ... [email protected] mockup). Some layers needs the be loaded quicker than others (like the ones currently off-screen), but right now, images are getting loaded in a pseudo-random order. Therefore I'd like to ask you, Koen, to include something like a loading-priority-function, forcing the browser to request layer-data in a particular order: layer.priority = 0 # sets the priority to load from 0 ... n; when multiple layers are set to the same priority, this subset gets loaded in the traditional "random" order Additional, useful functions could be: Utils.loadingProgress() # returns % loaded -> could be great to create "real" loading animations layer.loadingProgress() # returns % loaded of this particular layer layer.load() # loads the layer no matter what layer.loaded() # returns true or false Utils.start/pause/stopLoading() Utils.load(2) # loads particular priority-subset On a more silly note: Utils.cacheThisMotherf() Uitls.ignoreCache() ;) Relevant link: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4211519/controlling-image-load-order-in-html Thanks!

Hey all! I want to make some slideable panels, like on smartphone homescreens. I've made a fair bit of progress as you can see here, it's mostly there. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89613/MyMachines01.framer/index.html Having a few problems. 1 - When I drag at the end of the three panels, the whole page seems to drag/scroll. 2 - Here, i've hardcoded the values for the 3 panels. I'd like it to be more scalable to any number of panels. Any suggestions of how I could approach that? 3 - I think my way of deciding thresholds isn't great, I never seem to be able to go back to the first panel :) Any pointers? Thanks!

How exactly does layer order work? It seems like an easy topic, but I just can't figure this out: Why is "selected" always under "buttons" in this case? buttons.addSubLayer(share) buttons.addSubLayer(reply) buttons.addSubLayer(action) share.addSubLayer(a.share_icon) reply.addSubLayer(a.reply_icon) action.addSubLayer(a.action_icon) a.share_icon.center() a.share_icon.y = 25 a.reply_icon.center() a.reply_icon.y = 5 a.action_icon.center() a.action_icon = 5 a.selected.bringToFront() buttons.z = 1 action.z = 1 a.action_icon.z = 1 a.selected.z = 10000 Do root layers never overlap sublayers?

Hi guys. Wondering what the best way is to loop a simple 'is typing' animation (see attached). I want each circle to grow and shrink with a delay, so you get the wave effect. Obviously a pretty common pattern. I can get the initial animation, but I'm struggling to find a way in getting the animation to cycle for a fixed time without copying/pasta large chunks of code and using a Utils.delay for each cycle. Ew. Does anyone have a cleaner way to do this? Thanks!

I love the Photoshop import, but I find turning layers on/off to get quickly quite annoying as a means of importing, as it fights with the regular workflow I have in PS. Have you considered a different approach, copying InVision or Slicy? They tag the layers. It ignores layers with default names e.g. "Group 1" and allows you to specifically ignore layers by adding a minus - to the front of it.

Pro Tip for developers who use framer. A couple of people have told me they wish Framer had more of an MVC structure. It can! Here is a very simple example of creating a model that the views can listen to and interact with, instead of having to keep track of each other. The trick is to have the model extend Framer.BaseClass so you can listen to and emit events from it.

Is there a way to toggle between a layer's animation states through another layer's on-click event? For example: I have two layers blueBox and redBox, all defined with properties and everything. I need redBox to animate between two states when blueBox is clicked. The JavaScript I have for that part: blueBox.on(Events.Click, function(){ return redBox.states.next("stateA", "stateB"); }); Is this not possible in framer.js? I have the states defined to do a simple up-and-down animation. It works if I just swap the on-click event to work on redBox (as opposed to blueBox). Is there no way to have a different layer animate by triggering an on-click event in another one? Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, I have a question related to using click events on list items that are in a scrollable view. I have 20 generic list items that all have a click event on them that triggers a detail view. A single click works as expected, but it is impossible for me to scroll through the entire list without accidentally triggering the click event and opening the detail view. How can I better control this behavior so the the click event doesn't fire when the user tries to scroll? I have found this link that Koen posted for reference:https://www.facebook.com/groups/framerjs/permalink/546829615444114/ but that's for comparing coordinates at the start and end of a drag movement and I don't know enough to apply the same concept to scrolling. Can anyone help?

I had to make a relatively large prototype over the summer and ended up using Browserify + Gulp to modularize different parts of the prototype so I could have them in different files. I put up a simple boilerplate on Github so check it out if you have a large prototype to deal with (in my case, an entire app) and want some way to be able to separate your code (or if you don't like working with Coffeescript :p). Just shipped Framer Studio 1.8.5 with a bunch of bug fixes: http://framerjs.tumblr.com/post/98392805572/framer-studio-1-8-5 You can get it by selecting “Check for Updates…” from the Framer Studio menu, or upgrade your current project by selecting File > Update Framer. - Improved coffee script parsing, a grammar error now doesn’t reload the preview (less flickering) - Fixed links to the website - Fixed typo in javascript error reporting - Fixed a bug on importing where layer order would be reversed - Fixed a bug with scrolling on mobile - Fixed a bug with “change:x” events during animations - Fixed a bug with Context CSS - Simplified the animation loop to a render and update function - Added .querySelector and .querySelectorAll to Layer - Improved handing of pointer events for interactive elements that you add to layer.html like input, textarea etc.

I've spent two weeks writing a thousand or so lines of code to prototype an app with around 15 screens. Now I need to let someone in another continent load it onto their phone so they can take it into a board room and show it off, where there is no internet connection. The /offline.html approach makes me uncomfortable because I don't want them to have to download framer, run my code, etc and I have no way of testing that everything is preloaded. I heard about protosee but dropbox is blocked in China and I haven't tested it. Any other ideas? The only two musts: it must be simple to load for an executive and it must be reliable.

ARGHHH bouncy scrolling is pissing me off. how can I avoid it? I have added an event listener to the document but I still get it when I scroll a scrollable layer. document.addEventListener('touchmove',function(e) { e.preventDefault(); }); Thanks for any help

the newest update seems to have introduced some problems (specifically after updating framer files to the new format). Is there somewhere were all the known issues are being aggregated? (EDIT: find all issues here, https://github.com/koenbok/Framer/issues)

FYI: If you want to run a framer prototype built for an iPhone 5 size screen on a 6 you can just change the initial-scale in the viewport meta tag from .5 to .586, which essentially simulates the scaling iOS does on apps that haven't been updated yet.

Hi Everyone! I can't seem to make the scroll work. I'm using the latest versions of Framer Studio and Sketch Beta. I have a group with large height inside another group. When I use layer.scrollVertical = true, I can't scroll anything. I use the inspector and effectively that layer is large and its parent short. I've used old versions of vanilla Framer months ago before and this never was an issue. I don't know what I'm doing wrong on Framer Studio. Thanks in advance!

I have some frustration with the new Framer Studio: After migrating some of the examples from the Framer Site (e.g. http://examples.framerjs.com/#material-transition.framer or http://examples.framerjs.com/#load-and-display.framer) I get weird errors on properties, such as Layer.borderRadius: value '50%' of type 'string' is not valid also (when uncommenting the lines so it will render), I cannot use the zoom/fit options without a device present. it is either set to 100% and disabled or changing the control does nothing.

I am trying to add a shaking animation to multiple layers with CSS @keyframes, so I added a .shake class with a -webkit-animation in a CSS file, but it overrides the -webkit-transform property of the layers and, although the animation works, they lose their position. Is there a way to achieve this kind of animation natively with Framer, so I don´t run into this problem? Example: http://www.cssreset.com/css3-webkit-animation-shake-links/

I'm a UX designer who's really interested in utilizing Framer into my workflow but extremely low on funds to buy it since I've been looking for work for a while. Looking at the Framer docs I'm unsure what code languages I should be familiar with before pulling the trigger on buying it. When it comes to front-end skills I'm a junior dev who's starting to learn Javascript. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Hi everyone, I noticed a mention of MIDI support on framer website, but couldn't find any help or examples on how to use it. Have anyone used framer with MIDI? Would be great to see.

I used to be able to open up my framer files using my browser - is this not supported anymore?

Trying to fake scrolling by draggable and momentum, though I can't quite get the values right. Anyone know what values here feel like natural iOS scrolling?

Hi all, I got a question. Is it possible to export framer animation for the use on the website? (i.e. translate into jquery)
